Worst food I have ever had!!

I had read the positive reviews online and thought I would give the place a try. The service was very bad. There were only 6 people there and it still took close to 45 min to get our food. When the food finally got there it was overcooked. You could tell that it was cooked in old or burnt oil. Not even the tarter sauce could take the taste away. I will eat just about anything but I could not eat that. It was the worst food I have ever had. I can't believe they would even bring that to the table. I will never go back.

    Great Catfish Great Service IF...

The Catfish is great, especially the whole cat, my favorite. The filets are great too so is the shrimp. They do serve oyster on the half shell year round, but only have their trademark Gumbo, "in season"! The ambience leaves a lot to be desired as do the replacement of styrofoam and plastic with plates, and real forks! If they insist on plastic forks, the buy the good ones, and get rid of those that bend and melt if your fish is hot! The Service is GREAT IF Shana, one of Pappy's Puppies is there, otherwise you are at the mercy of Pappy who may forget you are there to watch TV or serve you whatever he wants you to have! The best bet is to call ahead and make sure Shana is there. Call for hours, as Pappy changes them as often as he changes his socks! Still inspite of the problems, this is the best catfish and service when you can get it in town!

    Best Catfish in Town

Food was great. Service was very good. Food served hot & fresh. This is a smoking restaurant however the front section is for non-smoking customers. They do serve Beer or mixed drinks. The restaurant met all my expectations.
Friendly atmosphere. Clean & I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door. I would definitely go back. Best Catfish I have ever had & I have had it all over the country. Their sister restaurant Riverbottom Cafe really belongs to their daughter. Both are great restaurants. A+
