  best burger bar none .....I grew up in the neighborhood in the sixties......I hope they still say what you birds want?

  I first came into Joe's Hamurger Place in 1956 when I was 5 years old and have gotten hundreds of burgers from there over the years without ever getting a bad one. In the 1960's it wasn't uncommon to wait for more than 100 burgers to be made before your order was ready! People would wait in their cars down the street.

  The secret is not only in the way the burgers are cooked, but in the secret, special sauce that they are topped with. You have never had anything like this burger! Be sure to get a bottled drink and a bag of chips. And, of course, one burger is not enough. Bring your appetite and enjoy! There is nothing like them!

  You only have a few choices at Joe's and you will never be happier. You sit on a bar stool at the counter and the burgers are made in front of you, something that has been done this way for more years than most of us could count. It started with Joe and has been passed down through the years to someone that had been involved with the place and not just sold to anyone, that is why the quality and Buger has never changed. Don't be surprised to see a car that smokes all the way down the street to a new Rolls Royce parked out front. If you have lived in San Antonio for any length of time, you probably know of Joe's or have heard about it, you must go, but be ready to eat about 4 the first time, one would never be enough, let her fix them her way and you will not be sorry. The conversations in this place can be the best you have ever encountered and spoken without a forked tongue, but the Burgers are why you go here.

  Joe's hamburgers are the best. I have never had a hamburger as good as these. She makes them right in front of you so they are fresh. Don't be mistaken by the way her shack looks. The food is the best ever. Oh, and sodas in a bottle. Where else can you find friendly service, fresh burgers and bottled sodas. I love this place.
