BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN TOWN !!!!! written by

My wife and I come to Corpus every other year to visit my brother and his wife. He told me four years ago he had found a place that made the best enchiladas in town. Boy, was he right! Our latest visit to the Hi-Ho was April 3, 2008. The service was great, the enchiladas were great("con cebolla", or with onions is how we get them) and their refried beans are the best I've ever had. They taste bacony and are slightly on the dry side, which makes them different from the runny beans you usually get in a Tex-Mex restaurant. Also they serve in-house made flour tortillas, which are grand! Don't forget the red and green salsas served with every meal to "heat up" your food choice.
If you want ambiance, go to Kiko's (a beautiful facility with almost as good food). If you want the best food at very reasonable prices, the Hi-Ho is your choice. Plywood benches, pictures of Selena and other local and and a few national celebrities, and the best enchiladas in town (and refried beans)!!!!!! See you guys in two years! Also, don't plan on going for supper as the Hi-Ho is open for breakfast and lunch only.
