    Best Chinese Around

We used to go when it was over on South Story. We followed it to the new location. Outstanding (the best) hot and sour soup in the metroplex. Always good - never have had anything even mediocre. The owners are very nice - very clean place. I do highly recommend Empress Jr.

Lunch menu is all very good and comes with egg roll and your choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup and steamed or fried rice. Extra for Wonton soup but well worth it. Orange chicken is great! Lunch discount daily from 11:00 until 2:30 most items are 5.99 and larger portions are $1 to $2 more after lunchtime.

    Reliably Good Food & Service

I regularly visit this restaurant for lunch on weekdays and am always impressed by the quality of the food and good service. There is no buffet, so the food is always fresh and hot. The lunch menu is also cheaper than at most Chinese restaurants.

I discovered this restaurant due to its proximity to my office, but my wife likes to dine there on weekends. Even though its a long drive from the house, it is our preferred Chinese restaurant and we will drive past many old favorites to reach it.

The place is quiet, and rarely crowded. The furnishings are somewhat spartan, not much in the way of decor. The interior is somewhat dark. They maintain a large fish tank, which fascinates my daughters when the whole family dines here. The main room has eight booths and maybe five tables. Off to the side is a smoking room with some booths & tables. Fortunately, you cannot smell the cigarette smoke from the main part of the restaurant.

I really enjoy the General Tsao's Chicken here. The Kung Pao and Hunan Beef are also very good, but the spiciness varies. My wife prefers the Sweet & Sour Chicken and has never had a bad experience with that dish at this restaurant (though other Chinese places have not been so dependable). I also enjoy the Lo Mein here. The Hot & Sour soup is always great.

The kid's menu is also reasonably priced, and the Chicken Strips I usually order my daughters are very good. Nice & crisp with very little breading.
