I have read Critic's review and I don't doubt he got a bad meal on his visit.I am sorry that Critic had a bad meal. This isn't the normal for this great restaurant. My wife and I have stopped at Dyer's over 10 times. We have always been treated very nicely and the food has always been warm and the slaw has always been cold. Their Rib platter is as good as they come. Give Dyer's a try, you won't be disappointed. I tell all my friends if they want a great place to stop in Amarillo try Dyer's.

I grew up in Texas, and although I have been away for many years...I still know what good bbq is. This food was truly terrible. The meat tasted OLD,as in not fresh in the least! Plus the potato salad and the cole slaw were not even well chilled. How scary is that? We had the bbq plate and along with the above mentioned sides, we got onion rings and texas toast grilled with margarine. I guess they still think transfats are healthy in Texas? And to top it off the meat comes with some sort of weird canned fruit puree- like baby food. Ugh. Trust me I will never go there again.
