This place was recommended to me on a flight to Tyler from Dallas. I was in town for business at the courthouse and had a couple of hours to spare for lunch. I told the person I was meeting that I wanted to go to Cox Grill for lunch and they said, Great, I eat there often!
I was treated like family in this little place. The owner is Ron and Linda Blackstock and most kin work at the place. The food was very good and I could tell it was fresh and not sitting around for just anyone. My order was made after I ordered it and the food was hot and delicious. I had a bacon cheese burger and a small chili. I wish there were more places like this around. The fastfood chains have taken over and the food isn't always all that good. I visited a chicken place in Tyler and the food was not good. It was a new Chicken Express and the chicken tasted like someone had poured salt all over the chicken. I could not eat it.
I will recommend Cox Grill to anyone that is going to Tyler Texas and wants a great burger or from what I hear, everything on the menu is good. I am getting hungry thinking about the place now. Can't wait to go back to Tyler and get another burger. The man on the plane said the breakfast was the best in town also.
Well, try it out for yourself and I think you will enjoy it as much as I did. The folks are very friendly and make you feel at home. Unusual for any food establishment these days. I think they have been in business since 1926 but the Blackstock family has had it for over 20 years. Well enough, just try the place out and you will like it.

this restaurant was amazing!! i recommend it to everybody!! the owner is great at what she does. She has done a good job with that place. i was only there for a few minutes and the service was already surprisingly good. I just felt like i was at home! GREAT!
