Myself and a friend dined at cheddars on a Saturday for lunch. Their computers were down and service was slow. We waited 30 minutes for our appetizer and when finally received it came w/the main course. The manager never came out to apologize and when requested she never apologized for the delay in service or thank us for our patience. She did not even allow a full disclosure of our complaint before walking off from us, the customer. The manager accompanied the district manager and he never once introduced himself or had anything to say until we were about to leave w/purses on our shoulders and he let us know they were refusing us service and if we complained the lady who came out w/him earlier would be to whom our complaint would be given to.

I took my two kids to cheddar's on westpark in houston wednesday nov.23,2005. we were gonna have a quick lunch before continuing our busy shopping day.we were immediately seated and ordered our drinks and appetizer. the waitress came to take our order and when i told her my son who is 19yrs. old wanted the grilled cheese kids meal, he never grew out of that picky eater stage, she said she would have to charge the price of a chicken tender meal at $5.99, because policy says you have to be 12 yrs or younger to purchase the grilled cheese kids meal. so i asked to speak to a manager about it and he came over, i asked him why am i being charged for something i am not ordering? he says mam it is policy. i asked him if the portions would be larger, he says no. i asked him if i came in and ordered a to go order how would they handle it that way, again he says policy. what happens if my 10 year old niece ate a large plate, would you charge less because of policy? i just don't understand, should'nt it be our perogitive if we just want a small grilled cheese meal. are you afraid you will lose money, that can't be it, you guys have great food. is it a double standard? we were gonna have drinks, appetizer's, a kids grilled cheese meal, the lunch combo with baked potato and half club, and the chicken alfredo plate, how much would you have lost if we were able to order the kids meal? should'nt you guys change your policy? we left without any lunch and went down the street to kfc where they have a menu for picky eaters and you pay a flat price for each, no discrimination on age, gender or what ever. can you explain?

I absolutely loved the ambiance, but the service was subpar, and the food was really good, but not great. Just as the title says, cool, not wonderful!
