  When we moved back here, one of the first places we HAD to go was Catfish Charlie's. The food was always good and the service was always friendly and great. Well, this time the food was so bad, we didn't even eat it. The bacon wrapped scallops tasted like the burnt oil in which they were cooked, the catfish was so dry you could barely cut it with a knife and the tea tasted like mold. I will never go back again. It used to be such a good place to eat. Shame.

  Once a year my wife and I vacation around the Corpus Christi area for a couple of weeks. We visit Catfish Carlie's every other day because the catfish melts in the mouth. The hushpuppies have a great texture, and the beans have a flavor to live for. Great food!!! We'll be there later this month.
