Best Service in Town written by

I have been there by myself, my husband and family and even had large party there. The service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. The menudo is the best I have ever had
besides my Moms. The staff is always friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend not only this location, but their location in San Marcos as well.

Tex Mex, not Italian written by

Maria's is one of those little, family-owned (I presume) Tex Mex restaurants that is so common in South Austin. They serve good Tex Mex at reasonable prices.
I've had their enchiladas and their migas. Both were better than average, served quickly, and carried a modest price.
On weekend nights, they have live mariachis. I'm not an expert on mariachis, but in my experience, some are good and loud and some are just loud. The mariachis at Maria's are good as well as loud.
Maria's also has a small bar and a bakery, but I haven't tried either of those.
Bottom line, when I want Tex Mex in my South Austin neighborhood (I live on the border between 78704 and 78745), Maria's is one of the restaurants on my short list.
