I travel fairly frequently & try to eat at a nice place in many states & cities, Nick & Rudy's in my own backyard is one of the best around. I've been 3 times & have never had anythign but a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice place to eat, great food & excellent service.
I’ve been to Nick & Rudy’s numerous times and continue to enjoy every experience. I love the dimly lit atmosphere that it has to offer. The bartenders are great at making drinks for people who don’t really know what to order and you don’t have to wait long for one either. The people who come for the bar are middle aged professionals looking to have a good time and they’re very respectful. The piano bar gets people up and dancing so they enjoy themselves a little more than they would on their usual night out.
I’ve also gone to the restaurant for dinner with 9 members of my family on a Friday night. I made the reservation that day and they had our table set and waiting for us when we got there. The dinner was fantastic, although I must admit they could use another server. Also, we didn’t experience any problem with the smoke from the bar drifting over to the dining section. No one in my family smokes and I brought my three year old son with us who has asthma. We had an enjoyable evening!
I would return. In fact, I recently moved to Northern Virginia and I’m driving back this weekend to visit some family and I can’t wait to make an appearance at one of my favorite Nashville hangouts.
In one month, made reservations each of our two dining attempts. Food at the first experience was satisfactory, nothing great, although the service was terrible, largely owing to the kitchen, not the waiter (not enough serving staff, either). We had to signal to get our waiter to even get a drink, alcoholic or otherwise. Took us over two plus hours to get served. Upon our second attempt, one of the owners was so rude when we inquired as to why no one called us to inform us that again, they were running late and we would not be seated until much later than our reservation. Bar is very, very smoky, which carries over into the dining area. The piano bar and singer are quite good; better place to drink/dance than to eat, especially if you smoke (we don't). We will not be back.
