After the two of us waiting half an hour to be served, (we were dressed conservatively and are Afro-Americans earning good incomes) we had to call over a waitress in order to wipe down the grime on our table. When this waitress finally found another waitress to wipe down our table, this girl who obviously drew the short straw wiped our table down with a grimy, food encrusted rag, then walked away with an attitude. More patrons started coming in and were served before us. We then noticed the waitresses painstakingly swirling around us while avoiding and ignoring having to take our orders. Immediately I confronted who I thought was the head waitress why this was happening. She then outright lied to me speaking with an overt condescending tone of voice, 'I'll have to find your server.' After she returned 10 minutes later she responded even more agitatedly, 'Can I take your order?' Now my curiousity was piqued and I then had to ask, 'What happened to our original server?' To this she was caught unaware and stated, 'We don't have servers assigned to any one table.' At this point I told her 'That wasn't what you told me 10 minutes ago' to which she responded, 'Well, we had to wipe down your table!' as if that were an extra service charge. We then left and found an upscale restaurant in Chester, NY and had a very enjoyable meal. Don't waste your time at the Backyard Grille....
