This was my second visit to Grappa and definatelynot my last. Grappa is definately a hidden gem for Greensboro. It was our anniversary and i highly recommend this place to any couple who is celebrating. The ambiance was incredible the staff were inviting and knowledgable and the food was delicious. If there was one thing i could complain about it would have to be that there is only one Grappa Grill in the triad. Hands down among my top 5 places to eat in Greensboro. Thanks to everyone for thelovely evening we will be back soon!
I don't know what everyone else is complaining about. The food was superb-best lamb ever! The wine list well priced-bottles of wine I have seen on other local lists priced 2x as much. The service knowledgeable and friendly. Great ambience indoors, though my date and I prefer their covered patio- we sat outdoors in the rain and enjoyed beautiful service from their handsome bartender.
Greensboro is missing out on this gem!
This was only our second visit to the Grappa Grill, the other having been on the occasion of a wedding rehearsal dinner two years ago. There were six in our party and we were seated in a secluded booth as requested by one of our party. Waitress did not even tell us her name; we had to ask. Three of us ordered the stuffed chicken breasts--joke--just slices of chicken layered over and under sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese. The entree was much too salty. Another member of party ordered New York Strip and finally received a steak knife with which to cut. He ordered medium rare, but was too rare to eat. Parties of two and four were receiving much more attention than our party as we automatically had a 20% gratuity added. Why should we reeive exceptional service when the server knows they are getting an automatic 20% tip?
If our friends sugggest we dine here again, we would have to decline in favor of less pricey and better service experience.
The last time I visited Grappa Grille was a few weeks ago. What a well rounded great experience it was! From the delicious food to the creative wine list and knowledgable staff, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a casual night out in the bar area, a romantic dinner for two, or for a business meeting. We started with the calamari which is the most tender calamari I have ever had in Greensboro. It was delicious! The lamb carried an elegant presentation full of flavor and sooo tender. To top it off, our lovely server recommended the perfect wine for our meal! For the end of our meal we had preordered bread pudding which was definitely the best I've had anywhere! The service was unobtrusive and cordial, all of my needs were taken care of before I knew I needed them! I'll be seeing you soon grappa!
Interior design makes one want to love Grappa Grille. Our most recent attempt to love this restaurant unfortunately turned out to be a repeat performance of mediocrity. We have previously enjoyed great service while tolerating bland but well presented entrees. On this occasion, however, three out of four meals were clearly sub-par. The ahi tuna was served rare and was delicious. Duck, chicken and osso bucco all disappointed. We have enjoyed excellent service previously, but were completely underwhelmed by what could best be described as the disengagement of our waiter. Sorry, Grappa Grille. We need restaraunts of a certain caliber in Northern Greensboro, you've got the potential, and we really want to love you. At some point, you've just got to start loving us back.
Seeing the prices I expected a great meal. If only the chef knew how to season. I had the Pistachio crusted salmon with a citrus butter. The salmon was way too salty while the spinach and rice were not seasoned at all. The wine was great, so if you want to drink wine this is the place to go. If you want a good dinner go to the Green Valley Grill
I was told that the Grappa Grille was an amazing place. So I went on April 24 with my girlfriend. The service was exceptional, but the food could use lots of work. I am spending close to thirty dollars for a beef filet. I ordered it medium rare, yet it came to the table medium well. If I was spending fifteen dollars that would be expected, but the price. I had the creme brulee for dessert. It was also over cooked and tasted like egg. The salads were good, but expensive for what you got. The servers were great and new their wine selection. If only the food was just a good.
I took my girlfriend for dinner at the Grappa Grille just last week March 13, 2006. It was kinda pricey, but definetly worth it. I started with a Beef App. It was wonderful. A piece of the most tenderest Filet. My girlfriend had a House salad with small pieces of pears and nuts which were somehow sweetly coated. Both were just perfect and we asked the waitress Mary about what wine would go well with our appetizer. I forget the name but she picked the perfect one. For out entree I had the Strip with sometype of mushroom rub and Truffle fries. These are definetly not McDonalds fries. i have never tasted anything like this. My girlfriennd had the Scallops. They were wonderful. All the time we were taken care of wonderfully with feeling over attended to or rushed.
The Grappa is by far the best restaurant in Greensboro if not in all of North Carolina.
