Myself, I am a creature of habit and I almost always have the chicken pot pie. My husband likes to try it all, and except for seafood, I think he has! This is one of our favorite places to eat in Springfield. It is always packed and always good. We often take out of town visitors to this restaurant because we know they will find something on the menu that they like. It has a very good varity. I have tried the chicken strips and they are sure not like others. They seem to be handbreaded and very tasty. I asked my husband to let me list his favorite and he said EVERYTHING! Our last visit he had steak and chicken strips and managed to eat it all. Our friends had a to go box and enjoyed the rest the next day for lunch. I just wish we had a 2nd one in north Springfield. I am sure it would always be full as well.

On April 1 we my husband and I took our 3 kids out to eat as a treat for good behavior. We called ahead as they state you can. We had them put us on the list for 8:30. When we got there the hostess never made eye contact took our name and said it would be just a few more minutes. We waited 20-30 without complaint and were glad when they called our names. The hostess put us in a corner booth which we thought was great with kids. We were there just a few minutes when the waiter took our drink and appetizer order. While we waited for that one of the other hostess girls came to our table and told us that it should have been reserved for a party of 7 that called ahead. My husband said well we called ahead as well and we had a party of 5. She did not budge on the issue and my husband suggested we just leave which she did not do anything to try and keep us from leaving. So we left and went to Colton's steakhouse where we got amazing service and did not have to wait to get in. We love cheddar's food but we will not go back anytime soon. I called the manager and he had a less than desirable attitude about the whole situation. He basically said he didn't know why it happened and would talk to the staff but didn't really ever apologize for what happened. He said that they were going to do away with call ahead seating because of the problems. I was so very disappointed in a place that used to be my husband and I's favorite place to go.
