  I recently went to Governers on a date. My date dropped me at the door and parked the car. As I was waiting I asked for a menu. All eyes were on me (I'm a very pretty girl or so I thought). My boyfriend came in and we looked at the menu together when all of a sudden one of the patrons from the bar started flippin out and screaming about "spooks" and why do we think we can go and are welcome anywhere. Even scarier the bartender added that he has to throw "them" out all the time. Needless to say we left. Next time post a NO BLACK PEOPLE WANTED SIGN. JERKS!

  I love this restaurant. I've been going there since I was a kid and now I take my own family there. The food is always great, the waitresses act like you're an old friend when you walk through the door and I think the most expensive thing on their menu is a 16 oz. steak (HUGE) with all the trimmings for $11.95! If that's over your budget you can get great sandwiches with fries for about $6. It's worth the trip every time!

  their food is not as good as it used to be i wonder if they are still using marys recipes. they used to have the best fish fry in town their au gratins are ok but they must have switced up their recipe for the ribs all in all it was ok but i miss the old govs
