They're changing the name of the resturant from "Dok Sing" to "Fortune House" most of the food is still the same, but overall its a great resturant to eat at. Me and my family love it and go there at least once a week, theres so many choices you can make, thai or chinese, lovely place. Great service, overall great everything, I'd recomend this resturant over many others in the area.
The food was delicious, great place to eat id recomend it to anyone and everyone. If you want great asain food go here. Just all around a great place to eat. I go there a lot now. Go and try it for yourself, tell your friends and family, highly recomend it.
Saginaw is otherwise a depressing parade of chain restaurants with a few notables, which makes staying here in Lansing difficult.
Yet this little place is an excellent hideaway, with with fresh, unique mix of tastes that tease the pallet and satisfy the appetite.
The staff are friendly, helpful, and kind.
I have a good feeling that this restaurant is under new ownership. I used to eat there a few times a month. I would alternate getting Thai and Chinese. All of the dishes that I used to get are no where near as good as they used to be and have changed in appearance and taste. The portions are not nearly as big as they used to be either. I used to have enough food for two lunches, but not anymore.
Not saying that the food is awful, it is just not nearly as good.
My husband and I have dined here a couple times -- thinking that maybe we just hadn't tried the "right" dish. Sad to say, there are several better options for Thai & Chinese food in the Lansing area.
If it's Chinese you want -- drive a little further into the shopping complex behind Dok Sing & eat at Little Panda instead.
I have been to this restaurant a few times for carry out and the food is really good. The counter person seems fairly normal. If you are using this on-line menu be wary, however. After I ordered using this on-line menu I discovered that the item was not $6.50 but $8.00.
They need to get the prices updated. They were out of take out menus when I asked for one so this site really needs to update the prices, or remove them all together.
I only had a short time for lunch, so I stopped in to see what Dok Sing had to offer. The food at Dok Sing is really, really good! I had the Pad Pak with chicken. The chicken was tender, and the spice was just right.
As someone else pointed out, the ambiance is a little lacking. It looks like they've worked on that somewhat. They definitely need to do something about the music choices though. :)
The server was quite busy when I came in to the restaurant, so she was kind of terse with customers as they were coming in and being seated. She was, however, the only server there waiting tables, and as the restaurant slowed down, she relaxed and became more smiling and friendly. So, perhaps they need more help during their lunch hour....
I have eaten here on several occations. I have always been pleased with the thai options. Good food at a reasonable price and enough left for tomorrows lunch. The ambiance is a bit lacking but the food is worth the trip. If you like asian cuisine you'll like Dok Sing
