Dining here is was one of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had. I love Vietnamese food and have always tried different restaurants on the island. This one sure beats all the others in regards to quality and taste of food, service, and ambience. I dined there on their last day open at the McCully location (and every day for a week before they closed). Unfortunately they have since closed and are currently looking for a new location. Please please open soon so that we may all enjoy your delicious food!

My fiance and I visited this restaurant on our stop from Maui. We were vacationers from San Bernardino and loving Honolulu except for the high prices in Waikiki. It was unfortunate that we found this wonderful restaurant only on the last day of our stay. The wait staff was incredibly informative with visitor's information and even gave us tips for our next stay. The food was remarkable and very affordable - my fiance and I ordered enough food and drinks for a family and the bill totaled $35.00! They make a kick ass strawberry shake from fresh strawberries - it is smooth, creamy, and refreshing. We wish we would have found this place sooner. Oh, well there's always next year.

My take out experience was an unexpected event due to my difficulty finding parking. I parked illegally and ran into the restaurant to place my order but had to immediately return to my car. The waitress was so nice and helpful, she offered to deliver my take out to my car and I was able to enjoy my food. The special chicken rice place was tasty and hit the spot. It was reasonably priced too, $8 for a hefty amount of food. I would definitely return, even if I have to order take out.

The soup was fantastic but the AC was super cold. So in case any of you decide to dine here, it may be a great idea to bring along a jacket or a blanket! The soup I had (it came with some seafood and clear noodles) was really good. The broth was so clear and tasted homemade. I am half Vietnamese and eating here makes me reminisce of home, when my mother used to cook Vietnamese food. You will never run out of water when you dine here.

I dined at Viet Cafe on a Wednesday evening and I swear the food came out before I could even read the first page of my newspaper. I had heard of this restaurant through a friend of mine who frequently dines there after getting off her shift at work. She suggested that I try the Bun noodles (sp?)with grilled chicken. I loved it! It was lean, deliciously flavored moist grilled chicken served over a bed of vermicilli(sp?) noodles and fresh veggies! How healthy is that! Being an eat a run kind of person I really appreciated the fast service and delicious food combination.

I checked this place out in hopes that they would have good pho and they didn't disappoint! It was the best I've ever had. What makes it great is that the basil and beansprouts that came with it was so fresh and fit perfectly with the steaming soup. Unlike so many other restaurants, this place has got the freshest herbs and ingredients, that's how you can tell they have good business and a high turnover, all the details that are essential for me, as a food lover, to better enjoy my tasting. The wait staff was really friendly, unlike those you usually see at Vietnamese dining establishments. The water was always filled and service was impeccable by my attentive waitress, an asian Angelina Jolie lookalike. Remember to have the pho when you visit!

I was looking for a good place to hang out with the guys on Saturday night and this was the jackpot. The sauteed prawns were awesome. It was perfectly prepared with giant prawns and a coconut garlic chili sauce that was fantastic! It makes my mouth water thinking about it. The service was awesome and the waitress was so friendly and had a great smile. That's what you would call great service. Also, their appetizers are one of a kind - you should try the wraps with grilled prawns and grilled beef. It was a perfect environment to kick back with friends and just chill.

This has got to be one of the best restaurants I have EVER eaten at. The air con is cold but the wait staff is warm and friendly, especially the cute evening waitress who recommended a few excellent dishes we savored. The pho noodle soup is the best I've had yet.

I visited this eatery on a Thursday night when it was packed! The food was absolutely enticing and the waitress Kris(?) was even hotter. I can't decide what was better! The service was wonderful, with a gorgeous smile. The restaurant was cozy and modern. Nice place for a date. I would definitely return for more! Enjoy their sugar cane shrimp wraps! It's just like they make it in Vietnam.

I was in Waikiki for my honeymoon in Dec 2006, I asked the front desk staff where do they like to eat. They said they usually hang out at Viet Cafe Restaurant after work because it opens late. We tried the spring rolls and summrer rolls for appertizer, one bowl of combination pho and prawn in spicy sauce with rice. The food is simple but we like the atmosphere and the friendliness. The staff (small asian female I think her name is christ) is extremely nice and helpful. At her suggestion after dinner we tried the soursop shake, and it was sooo delicious. I would come back again to this place.

Nice cozy restaurant with a small bar counter for those who happen to wander in hungry and alone. Service is quick and everyone is multi-lingual~. So you can talk to them in Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese, English or a little Pigeon. Great value for the money and very tasty.
I would definitely return~... nice place to relax late into the night as they stay open until midnight. Try their mixed shake style drinks... the best!
