I used to love Landmark diner. I admit the food is great and the prices are reasonable. However, I refuse to patronize a business that will take advantage of their loyal customers. During the week Atlanta hosted the Final Four (Mar. 30-Apr. 2), I stopped in to order two carry out salads. The normal price for their salads are $8.50 each. However, because of the special events, they raised the price up to $15.00 each. I couldn't believe what I was hearing so I asked to speak with the manager and he confirmed that they raised the prices during Final Four week "because they can." His attitude was very nonchalant and he did not care about how disloyal this made the restaurant seem to their customers. My question to him was, "during this special event, the city is already inundated with thousands of visitors. As a result, you are getting a heightened amount of patrons. Why do you need to price gouge?" His response? "Because we can." I felt just horrible. I always had a good perception of the manager and the restaurant, but now I feel like no matter how much I like their food, I can't go back. What they did was in very bad taste and there should be a law against this.
