I've been going to Bonnies for years. Their customer service is second to none. I absolutely love their chicken and chili. As for the people sitting next to a pool table and having to duck..duh. Thats gonna happen any where you go when you sit next to a pool table idiot, regulars playing or not.
Bonnie' refuses to make their restaurant accessible to people with disabilities. That means they are discriminating against families like mine.
Yeah I've had the burger's they are OK, Peanut Barrel has the best in my opinion. You'd be better off going to Bonnies on a Monday when burgers are half price, it's a steal. That being said you can not beat their all you can eat perch on Fridays. You're going to have to head to Mitchells or Gilbert and Blake's, spend $20+ a plate to get a better piece of fish. You add that to the fact it's all you can eat (never felt it was a hassle for a re-order), and its $8.95.....you can't beat it. As for the complaints about the ambiance: yes it's a neighborhood bar and it gets smoky at times but I'm a smoker Jimmy's is the only non-smoking bar I know of. Furthermore, I've never met a bad person or felt pressured in any way by a "regular". If you come during dinner (7-8pm) it will be busy, I always sit downstairs which is rarely crowded even at peak hours.
The claim that the reviews written by those that aren't supportive of bonnies are from competing restaurants is ridiculous. All of the faults that have been listed I have witnessed and been privy to as well. Also, I have had not unpleasants experiences. Overall though, this place is not the great bar that the regulars of Lansing think it is. It is a towny bar, and thats all it strives to entertain. Ever talk to your local blue collar lansing-ite? pretty much like talking to the earth they come from.

BONNIES BEEP! we don't want stupid people in our bar---so when you come we serve you burnt hamburgers and tell you to get out of our seats!
I love Bonnie's! I'm shocked at some of these reviews, because in my experience the food and service have always been A+! I don't eat burgers so I can't comment on those, but their subs & chicken sandwiches are delicious! They also have great drink specials most nights! Keep up the good work Bonnie!
I have become a regular- something I swore I would never become- but nothing beats a great burger on Monday nights after a hard day, and to top it off they are 1/2 off! Service is always great and personal, the wait staff get to know you after only one trip and are very friendly, it is always nice to come in to a smiling face. However Bonnie's is a bar-don't expect a facny restaurant.
I've read some of the reviews and I'm shocked. I've been to Bonnie's Place more than once and the food, service, and ambiance have met my expectation. Bonnie's Place is a bar and grill. It's a great place to bring your family and friends. Maybe even make some new ones. I really enjoyed the "Bonnie Experience". Keep up the good work.
I was with a co-worker today and we wanted to go somewhere different for lunch. He wanted a big greasy burger. I suggested Bonnie's Place because of the hype about having the best burger in Lansing. We weren't impressed. I had a half pound cheeseburger with everything (it had cheese, onions, tomato, ketchup, & mustard....no lettuce or pickle slices). They charged $.50 more for "deluxe", on top of the extra $1 for a cheesburger. It was very average. The meat was kind of tough and chewy and didn't taste flame grilled. It had little flavor and was dry. I think it was fried on a grill. The bun was thin and weak and completely fell apart before it was half eaten. The bottom of the bun was so thin it turned to mush. A good firm bakery bun can make a great burger. This was just some soft grocery store type bun. The fries were OK and it came with a wimpy little dill pickle spear. I wouldn't call this the best burger in Lansing, not at all. It was also very smokey in there, which is typical in a bar. It ruins my experience trying to eat in a gray fog of cigarette stench. It was $12 with the tip, not worth it. I won't be returning. Even Burger King beats this place at half the cost.
Nice atmosphere...for a bar. But, along with a few of the other reviews, I don't know how this place was voted best burger. The toppings are fun and unique, but the actual patty is frozen and gross. Try Crunchy's for a great burger. Dagwoods and Peanut Barrel also offer superior burgers.

Food was very good. Good selection, something for everyone. Burger really is good. Those that say it isn't are more than likely from competing restaurants trying to deceive everyone. I would challenge anyone to find something better. There are a lot of good burgers out there, and this is definately one of them.
I agree with the above reviewers - this is NOT the best burger in town. I don't know if the owners/managers are paying someone on the voting committee, but these are probably the worst burgers I've ever had. I was baffled and dumfounded as to how these have won that title every year. I went once, and won't be going back.
This has got to be the best burger in the country. Service was excellent! wow the waitress staff was beautiful. The people were quiet and nice. The food was fresh and excellent! wow. im going to take my kids there for the rest of their life. I want them to take their children there also. I think we should all donate at least a doller to this place and make it the best local buisness in town!
It really is bizarre how this place claims to have the "best burger in town". On their best day, it's a decent burger, but usually, it's really quite bad. The place is cramped, on the dirty side, and the service can be slow.
They really need to improve things before I'll be going back.
rated as "the best burger in town" is quite deceiving, at best. it's worst than fast food. it's tolerable for a few bites but, i can never even eat half of anything. i keep giving it a try just in case it was that day or the item on the menu didn't agree with me but, everytime i'm really, really disappointed. it tastes like GFS bulk food stirred together and slapped onto a plate, just like hot lunches from elementary school, except without the nostalgia.
plus, EVERYTHING is drenched in mayo...puke!!!

The last two trips to Bonnies have been so bad that they likely are the last two trips. On the first occasion, we had to sit in the basement and duck to avoid being hit with the end of the pool cues as the "regulars" apparently did not like the fact that we were seated in "their area" (with kids no less)
the last trip, the burgers (voted best in town), were aweful, burned, tasted bad, service was poor, not a good experience.
