  My wife and I dined at Margaux's for the first time. Caesar salad lacked anchovy taste. Crabcakes lacked proper seasoning. Duck tasted pre-cooked and dry. Only enjoyable dish was the crab bisque. The bill included an 18% gratuity (for 2 people)which is supposed to be included for 6 or more people. What a ripoff!!! Would never go back!!!

  Poking around the web one day (bored at the office) I came across the review by Jess8484 and upon a little more investigation found this restaurant's website (margauxson41.com). The menu was tempting and I was able to make an online reservation right from the website - so I took the plunge.
  
  We got there at 7:30 on a Wednesday evening and were greeted by the owners daughter and sat in a quite corner by the large wine racks. Upon seating we were presented with an appetizer plate. Not used to receiving anything but a bread basket at other places we dine at we were a little surprised but tried it anyway. Included in the plate are pickled vegtables, crackers, toastettes and pate, we sampled, but pate is not our thing.
  
  Given we were seated beside this wall of wine we paid carefull attention to their wine list, quite expansive and varied, we decided on a Louis Bernard Vacqueyras (I've cheated and gone back to their web site to check this spelling) which was brought to us by our server Doug. After ordering we were brought, in short order, our salads and wonderfull warm crusty freanch bread. Even though the place wasn't that busy (given the time of year) Doug was attentive but not overly so, he let us eat and talk and only interupted when necessary.
  
  For dinnner I had the special, a sumptuos filet topped with Bourson cheese, and my wife had the Veal Milanese (her new most favorite meal). Everything was cooked to perfection. As full as we were we just had to try a dessert and went with a special that the chef had baked just that morning (we were the first to get a piece according to Doug). I know a lot of places claim to have home baked desserts, but this moist, fluffy three milk delight could only have been 'homemade', Doug swears they make all their desserts and judging by the one we had that is a good thing - and it came with a dollop of fresh cream to boot - no aerosol's here.
  
  All in all this place was a delight, I'm sure they will be hopping during season but with online reservations I expect I will have no problem getting a table with a little planning ahead - we will definitely be back.

  I have not been to Margaux;s for a few years. But on a recent return trip I found a whole new look that is quaint and warm. The food was as good as I remembered the service was wonderful. Don't know why I have not been in a while but I am sure to become a regular again. The new owner has paid attention to every detail and it shows. I had a great evening.
