Since relocating to the area, I was told by several Koreans that the KOJA was one of the better Korean restaurants in Jacksonville. When I first visited the establishment in the spring, I found the food to be fresh and full of old country spices that I remember as a child in Korea.
Since that time, I frequented your restaurant with my family and business associates, and have been satisfied with the food and service.
When I heard that KOJA was opening up a second restaurant in Southside, I was looking forward to the restaurant in my neighborhood. However, on a recent visit (Friday, September 22, 2006) to your restaurant at the Landing, I was severely disappointed with the quality of food & service.
Specifically, our appetizer of tempura shrimp was simply “deep fried shrimp” without the tempura batter. Secondly, our order of Bi Bim Bap was served COLD RICE. Third, Go-chu-jang was so watered down that it lacked all spiciness. It may as well been Ketchup. And of course, the saki was also watered down. Overall, it was one of my worst experiences of dining.
Too bad, they were quite good in the past.
