Hiro ya's food was good however the hygiene used is poor. The bathroom and kitchen share the same space, the half wall separates the two but you can still notice that it is one space. The kitchen is beyond filthy bt other than that the food is good. There is a particular waitress that constantly behaves like her year just ended. I eat there because it is closest to me but when I can I eat at Sam Won Garden on University: cleaner, great ambience and excellent food.
This is our favorite "whole-in-the-wall" place to eat. We lived in Seoul for a few months and chose the local flavor over the bad American food on the base. Our expectations were pretty high.
The staff members are sweet and very helpful. They can point you toward something you will like. The atmosphere is clean and simple. They do have a large monitor that scrolls through pictures of the food. If that doesn't hook you, the smell of the food will. They have good sushi, that is reasonably priced - but not always available.
LA Kalbi is superb, Spicy Pork Bulgogi is awesome, and try the Dolsot Bibimbop. They also have takeout.
We LOVE this place and recommend it to anyone who like something different,
