To capitalize on the name: although we had a "sinking feeling" when we entered the restaurant, we were quite impressed. The waitstaff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional with a few exceptions. We like our garlic shrimp with much more garlic. The chorizo comes flaming, which is impressive, but we have had tastier. The entrees, however, were all great. The sangria was really excellent! The decor is "old sailing ship", and very comfortable.
A pleasant dining experience once we got onboard. The Spanish and Portugese influence was a real treat to the palate, and my party of four could not get enough. Highly recommended for the seafaring gourmet. My only complaints were A) There were not enough life boats available to meet the occupancy limits, and B) iceberg lettuce was conspicuously absent from the salads.

The food was great. This is a portuguese restaurant. They serve bread with butter on the side while you wait. The appetizers are awesome and a lot to eat for just an appetizer! Great variety of wines. They serve you plenty. Unless you can really eat, you'll definately have a doggy bag. Nice place for family and dates.

Good food...decent atmosphere. Food is Portugese with some Spanish and Italian choices, is at a really good price...and they give you LOTS of it! You can't leave without being stuffed with good bread, rolls, soup, and your entree. Overall I never expected to find either the quality or ambiance in Newark NJ!!!
