I do not know where the reviewer below ate, but it was definately not at Brick Pit BARBEQUE!!!They don't serve lamb chops or salad dressing. How can people get it so wrong about such a great place? Read their reviews anywhere else on the web and you'll see what a special true BBQ joint they are. Last of the great ones.
My wife and I made dinner reservations for two due to the positive comments we heard in regards to the food at this restaurant. They seated us in this confined space next to the cash register even though the restaurant was half filled with patrons. The next disappointment was the limited choices on the dinner menu. The small loaf of bread was not tasteful (size of a hotdog roll), they only had two choices of salad dressing (vinegrette and flavored mayonaise), dinner arrived 1hr and 45 mins later, during this time they did keep the drink glasses full (coke and sweet tea). Appetizers: the $9.00 cup of soup tasted like a can of Campbells soup and the thyme loaded lamb chops were only partially cooked when delivered to our table. At this point, my wife decided it was time to vacate the premises before enduring more disatisfaction. We paid the $110.00 dining bill (no wine, mixed drinks or dessert)and left promptly. I would reccommend this place for drinks only.
It was food, and it was filling. Not much else positive. Ribs were smokey-flavored but served at room temperature. My wife and son sent theirs back to the kitchen to be reheated. The choice of side dishes was very limited. Slaw and sweet tea were good. Beans were just pork & beans. Bread wasn't toasted. It was just a slice of grocery store bread. Rather than a waitress taking our order, one person had to go to the counter and order for all five of us. They did keep the drink glasses filled. The ribs were decent, the sides (choices and quality) were poor. I'd rate the overall experience as below average to poor. We're not going back.
Expectations were high, but the food was only ok. The ribs were adequate -- smokey, but not warm. My wife and son sent their food back to be reheated. Flavor was OK, but neither the spicey nor regular sauce was anything to write home about. The sweet tea was very good. The slaw was good. The side order of beans was only pork & beans -- nothing special at all. The selection of side items was very limited. I don't think it was worth the price.
Teh food is great until you go into the restrooms to wash your hands. They are filthy. I have found that the condition of the bathrooms are representative of the kitchen. We will not be back. The bathrooms were filthy, the sinks had dirt caked behind the faucets and the cammodes were filthy.
