  We discovered this restaurant a year ago and have "tried" it several times. We no longer are "trying" as it has become our favorite restaurant. Fresh food, well prepared, great service. "Try" it if you like, but we have done the legwork for you. The fish tacos are legendary and the rest of the menu is packed with classic high end Mexican fare.

  It's nice to finally find a Mexican restaurant that doesn't "Americanize" its food. The food has real spices that aren't buried under pounds of cheese. Although they have the standard fajitas, enchiladas, and tacos (which are all excellent) there are many other dishes that I'd never seen at any other Mexican restaurant (be it KC or anywhere else). Also a very very clean restaurant. Floors you could eat off of.
  
  Overall, I was very impressed with the selection of food as well as the unique flavor. And an amazing selection of fine tequilas.
  
  I recommend this to anyone who likes REAL Mexican food.

  My experience at Teocali was great. The service was not only good, but the food is incredible. I haven't had any mexican food this good since I lived in Mexico. Talk about authentic food, this is it. I would definetly return and spread the word to all the people that I know. You can be there on a date, just to eat, drink or even to watch a good sporting event. Great place!!!!

  What a wonderful and welcome surprise in the Longfellow/Dutch Hill neighborhood! Previously the site of a bar and grill with erratic hours, Teocali finally opened after months of redesign and speculation. The wait was worth it, I'm happy to report.
  
  The green enchiladas -- cheese -- were very good. The red enchiladas, with chicken, were even better. The salsa was medium spicy, and good; the house margarita, a bit pricey at $5.50, was big and excellent; and the pork tacos had Sus swooning.
  
  Now I'm just hoping Teocali will introduce margarita happy hour, and daily specials!
