It's flavorful without being spicey. I try something new everytime I go and there hasn't been anything I haven't liked. The food seems fresh and well prepared and usually healthier than usual options. The staff is friendly and usually quick and attentive. The prices could be a smidge more reasonable but really aren't too bad for the quality of food.
My family and I went to Sultans for the first time. The soup is so amazing and fresh that I cannot describe it. The bread you get at dinner is so filling and tasty. It's the perfect place. The service is good. The fruit juice is sweet, fresh and yummy.
I fell in love with Sultan's as an MSU student. It's #1 on my list whenever I go back. The chicken schwarma, hummous and lentil soup are the best I've found anywhere. The lunch plates are a steal, but cost a couple dollars more at dinner time (still worth it). The wraps a great to go too.
I've been to Sultan's 3 times and each time the food was good, but the service has always been very slow. These were not all times when the place was very busy either. In fact, two of the three times the place was pretty empty, but the service was still slow. The last time it took nearly an hour from the time we were seated until they took the order. While I like the food, I think Woody's is just as good, if not better, and 10x faster.
The food is always fantastic! Fresh, hot, pita rolls for dinner. Hummus is to die for Lentil soup is perfect. the staff has always been extremely friendly and accomodating. They're always hustling, especially when they're packed. There is always a ton of leftovers, especially since you get bread, plus soup or salad along with your entree. Try it!
My family and I have always been more than satisfied with both the service and food. Everyone is very friendly, food is excellent, take in or out. Party platters are great and very reasonable.
Catering is always top notch! Lansing Community is lucky to have such a terrific spot in our midst.
Sultan's is one of the best Mediteranian restaurants in East Lansing. Their food is fresh, the hummus is delicious, and the servings are plentiful (you'll pretty much always have leftovers). Take-out is prompt also - and don't forget to try their fresh juices and smoothies. Deserts are also excellent and home-made.
well i went in with 10 guys.. took them a while to seat us..
then the waiter did not speak good english, but thats okay was cute.. they gave us water with out ice, the food was dry, chicken was kinda old tasting.. i did not enjoy my food at all, but it was just not was me.. it was almost every one from the group...
i dont think i will be going there again.
i will find me a new middle eastern near the okemos and east lansig area
We went to Sultan's on our anniversary a couple weeks ago.
I got the Lamb Gallaya. It was pretty good, but the service was terrible. Our waiter came by twice over the course of an hour (and he only had one other table)
They ran out of bread (which was delicious) before our food arrived (we were there late, so this probably isn't a normal occurance), but the food poisoning that plagued me the rest of the night is certainly the reason I will NEVER return to Sultan's--I think they must have left the lamb out a BIT too long, as my girlfriend had the veggie Gallaya and had no problems whatsoever--
If you go, be careful.
I went to Sultan's for the first time with a group of friends and was very pleasantly surprised with the food. The pita bread was nice and fresh, the lentil soup was scrumptious, and the falafel was really crisp on the outside. I would definitely recommend this place for a healthy and delicious meal.
Have eaten at Sultan's a number of times. If you've never eaten Middle Eastern food before, order their sampler . . . and be prepared to take a lot home, because they really give you a lot for your money. They've been in business for a long time under the same management and have maintained high standards. Man, just thinking about the place makes my mouth water!

All around great atmosphere, wonderful staff, and excellent food! Aultan's has one of the widest selections of Middle Eastern food in the area. And the food is delicious!
The portion sizes are more than adequate and very filling. The staff is very friendly, although a little slow at times. Prices are reasonable for what you get. My Shish Combo, served with bread and a cup of soup, was just over $12.
