  We had heard about this restaurant and wanted to try it for a nice dinner out in Okemos. We had a reservation for 7:30 pm on a Saturday. We still had to wait 20 minutes to be sat. The explanation for the wait was "a lot of walk-ins." Seemed like they knew how to take a reservation, but not how to hold a reservation, because we were not the only reservation that had to wait. I was not very impressed with the ambiance, either. It looked like any other restaurant. The food was good - I had a steak. I thought it was kind of pricey for the overall presentation. I can go to a nicer looking restaurant with better tasting food for the same price, and I can be sat at the time of my reservation. There is nothing worth returning here for.

  Stillwater grill is one of those plases that is great for a business lunch or casual lunch with friends. They also have a wonderful dinner menu. Their steaks will not disappoint. They have a large menu featuring everything from steaks to seafood to pasta to ribs and daily chef specials. I am impressed with how clean their facility always is. This is not one of those national chain steakhouses where some high school kid is cooking your filet. The steaks are cooked to perfection every time. They also have another restaurant in Brighton with the same menu.

  We went to Stillwater for our aniiversary dinner, largely because we had a gift card, but also because we had heard the food was good. We weren't disappointed. The cajun beef tips were out of this world. The other food was really good, too, and everything was delivered to our table fresh and prompt. We also ordered a bottle of wine with our meal and the waitress knew the specifics of proper wine service, which is very hard to find in this town. All in all, it was a great meal with great service for only a little more than we would have paid if we had gone someplace more common. We'll definitely be back.
