Our friends took my wife and I out for our anniversary dinner her this past weekend and we really had a good time.
It was our first time, but our friends are "regulars".
Let me just say this, the food is Awesome! The service was great, our waiter was very friendly and attentive, even on a really busy night. We had calamari and buschetta apperitzers and both were excellent! Salads were nice, we upgraded to the fancier ones. I had the Filet which was awesome! Right up there with a good steakhouse quality! My wife had canneloni which she loved it. Our friends had their "usuals" chicken america and veal piccatta. Really nice wine list with good descriptions which makes it easy to make a good selection.
Its a small place so on a busy night it can be a little loud ( especially with lots of wine being consumed) but we really enjoyed it. I understand their back patio is really nice to an quieter. Fun, friendly place. Not stuffy. Really nice owner/chef who came out to check on us part of the way through our meal and say hi. We look forward to becoming regulars like our friends!
This was our 4th time dining at Sicilian Cafe and it gets better every time. The food is outstanding & very authentic! The atmosphere is warm, cozy & inviting. We started with the Calamari appetizer, which we have to have every time now, it is the best calamari we've ever had! They have a nice wine list, with descriptions of each wine which we find very helpful and not intimidating, since we aren't wine experts! I had the Prawns scampi which was out of this world and my husband had the filet, which he said was wonderful (and he's a steak guy). The food doesn't come quick, but rather a nice leisurely pace...it is nice not to feel rushed. It is obvious that everything is made fresh to order. The service is top notch, very friendly & attentive staff. The Chef even came out to our table to see if we were enjoying our meal, which was really neat. Save room for the warm chocolate cake & tiramisu..the best!
I just went to Sicilian Cafe - the new location - and had lunch. Everything tasted quite nice, the service was good, and I had a nice time. I had a panini sandwich, it had good flavor, fresh ingredients, and looked great. My friend had a cesar salad, she said the dressing was good, not too heavy or creamy, and the portion was a good size, not too big, not too small. I would eat there again.
Our July 2006 visit was our fourth, each more disappointing than the last. Most recently, the room was overly warm and the staff overly cold on an early Thursday evening. The place was less than half full, but they were out of some menu items (no clams). It took 35 minutes from placing our order to receiving our watery salads (one caesar and one house). It took an additional 40 minutes to receive our entrees. The fillet was THE WORST I've ever had anywhere, the prawns siciliano were over-done to the point of being rubbery and the pasta side was over-cooked to the point of falling apart and being gummy. The servers were not attentive nor apologetic about the delays. We will not be back, we would have had a better time simply putting a match to the $60.00!
