I am usually not a fried fish fan, but my fiancee took me here one night after work for a quick meal. The fish was fresh, flaky, and delicious. Although it was fried, it was not greasy because the cooks keep the oil at the right temp and cook things to order. My fiancee had the whiting -- which was delicious-- and I had the bluegill -- equally tastey. Our orders came with fries, a hush puppy, and a small side of coleslaw. Tartar sauce was also available, but I opted for the malt vinegar instead-- which is excellent on both fried fish or french fries!
We have been back 3 or 4 times since and have not been disappointed.
There are locations in West Lansing and greater Lansing, too!
PS> Scalawags also carries smoked fish that is vacuumed sealed and ready to go. I will be picking up some up for my father on the next trip back home.
