Dining out with friends on valentine's weekend we decide to give the restaurant another try and unfortunately we were disappointed again. It had been about 2 years since our last visit and I will never go back again. I ordered the filet mignon med rare with french onion soup . the soup was adaqueate however the steak was tough although cooked properly . what was worse was the managers indifference . I believe they are not aware of how a good steak should taste and the public is eager to eat sub standard food at expensive prices !!!!! WAHE UP PEOPLE this restaurant is way over rated
Arrived for our reservation and were immediately seated. Server asked for drink order, delivered and took our orders. One of our meals was incorrect, had to wait 25 minutes for the replacement.....no apologies, no discount. Had to flag down alternate servers for drinks and bread/butter 3 times. Food great........service will make me stay away forever.
Made reservations but table was late by 20 min. That was ok one of our party was late. Service was very slow, the food was a disapointment and pricey for what it was. My fish was burned and my husbands ribs were not very meaty. Although the waitress was very friendly she was a little slow getting back to us to take our order. It was a busy night. The reviews were a little misleading, but I like to give restraunts a second chance, everyone has off days as do restraunts. I may try it again on a day other than a Saturday.
The specials of the day are worth it, but their planked whitefish or any of the mexican foods are the ones to order if they don't tickle your fancy. Food is always served promptly and presented well, there is plenty of room (none of this trying to cram too many tables into too small a space....) Oh -- and I daren't forget to mention: they hands down have the best Mac and Cheese anywhere (and if that sounds funny for a 'upscale' restaurant, you haven't had their Mac and Cheese which includes a variety of cheeses and is VERY filling!
They have a nice wine and beer selection, the servers are helpful without being obnoxiously intrusive, and if you aren't careful you'll get to chat with the owner as he prowls around checking on people.
A good place for a pre (or post) theatre dinner or snack, or to hang out after a day of antiquing or browsing the art places in town.
