To say that Peter Luger serves a sublime steak is unnecessary; it is one of the few universal truths in the world. What is worth mentioning is that the service and ambiance are worthy of the food. The Great Neck location, once inferior, has found its groove and it is much easier to get a table. With old-timers like Casper, Otto and Wolfgang no longer serving in Williamsburg it hardly seems necessary to visit the original location anymore. For a real value at lunch get the hamburger. The onion buns served in the bread basket are some of the best I've ever had, and I grew up eating them fresh from local bakeries. The creamed spinach is excellent, too.
