I have been here several times and the service has always been horrible. I was with a group of 8 people sitting in the middle of the restaurant and we were completely ignored. Our drink orders were not taken or filled in a timely manner, we had to specifically ask to order food, and just to top it off we had to grab another waiter to get our bill. The restaurant has good food and the atmosphere is nice. Their beer selection is huge, but not worth fighting the horrible service. I have given them several chances, but I will not be coming back to Old Chicago.
It is a chain restaurant, but the food was good and served hot. It was flavorful and the portions were generous enough to allow for leftovers the next day.
The menu was a little limited except for the beer -- they claim to have 110 varieties. They did have five or so menu choices that were low in fat, five or so that followed the Atkins plan, interesting appetizers, salads, pizzas, pastas, and sandwiches.
The salad I had was cool, crisp and fresh. The lasagne was very good, a little light on the cheese but that's just a personal preference. My partner's pizza was served hot and very tasty. The chocolate chip cookie for dessert was not as good as Max and Erma's cookies but warm and good, none the less.
