The New Dynasty Buffet is GONE! It has been replaced by the Oodles of Noodles Buffet and Bamboo Room casual dining experience. You'll find updated items on the buffet during Sundays from noon until 4pm and Tuesdays through Fridays from 11:00pm until 2pm. They also have our famous Friday night seafood buffet featuring crab legs, frog legs, mussels, shrimp, and other favorites from 4 until 9pm. Reasonable prices and ample seating, too.
If enjoyed while the buffet is fresh, the food is very good. Friday and Saturday evenings a seafood buffet is offered. I must say, the wok fried squid and the pepper shrimp are the best I have had, and I have enjoyed many Asian buffets. Also included are crab legs, custard mussels, clams in the shell with a great sauce, salmon as well as the usual dishes. If ordering from the menu, the entrees are ample and delicious.
I went to this place to try it out because I heard it was amazing, but I saw the exact opposite. The food that they had wasn't bad; it was very plain and some of it was really salty. It's not bad, but definitely not the best. Then after a day of shopping, my friend really wanted to eat there for dinner and I bit my tongue. When we went up to the buffet, all the food was different from the time before. It's nice to have changes, but I ended up just having wonton soup because there wasn't anything there that I happened to like.
In the end, I still keep my word to Asian Buffet over on Marsh road. They are so nice - the food is excellent and at an affordable price.
The good thing about New Dynasty Buffet is that it has a different selection than most Asian buffets in town. Unfortunately, after trying it several times, I find that the food is mostly stale and carelessly prepared. Even at their worst, you can usually pick an choose a decent meal.
The hostess/host greats and seats you quickly the waitresses are very atttentive and courtious. Their buffet is vast and varied for lunch or dinner, is ample and excellent no matter which day you dine. Their General Tso's is slightly crispie and good, chow mein is great, Peking Duck suculent!!! The food is fantastic and perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. Chinese food is my favorite and I've dined at many Chinese restaurants over the years and the New Dynasty Buffet is definately the best.
Graduation celebration for 3-generation party was perfect. Wonderful variety of food satisfied everyone. Excellent quality, great choice of dishes. Attentive servers, nice atmosphere. We will be back. In addition, we often order food for pickup. Always good, always ready, always well-priced. Oodles of Noodles/New Dynasty Buffet a welcome addition to East Lansing cuisine scene.

You can't beat the range of foods at this buffet. There will be something for everyone, even if you have any dietary restrictions (ask servers for steamed rice -- it's available but not in the buffet). However, the food ranges from excellent (pastry/spinach/cream cheese appetizers and tofu and vegetables in brown sauce) to so-so (coconut rolls, baked salmon, and green beans). The appetizers were in general quite good, while some of the more expensive main dishes or vegetable-only dishes suffered from lower-quality ingredients. I'd recommend this buffet, but disagree with other reviewers that it's one of the best in terms of food quality in East Lansing.
This is one of the best Chinese Buffets you will ever eat at. The selection is amazing and it tastes even better. I recommend this to anyone who likes chinese food.
Chinese buffet with excellent food and variety, from meat to seafoods to vegetarian dishes. Fresh, tasty, clean, all you can eat. Be sure to go in the back door for the buffet & get there early due to crowds.
