    Authentic French bistro atmosphere...

Les Halles (pronounced "Le-all") was my FAVORITE French restaurant in Miami (having tried Pascal on Ponce, the now-defunct Le Festival,etc.). Their authentic French bistro decor seemed taken out of any "arrondissement" in Paris. Their service was(and still is) attentive, and their wine list varied, with most of the classical French wine regions represented (although slightly overpriced for the quality of the offer). The food, however...
The food used to be superb. I had taken my French friends, and they SWORE that their moules mariniere, their pommes frite, and pate rivaled any in France. My favorite was their tarte tatin (French style apple pie). HOWEVER, in recent visits, the quality of their food has significantly declined (we were told that they had changed their chef), to the point that now their pomme frites(French fried potatoes) are the frozen kind (the ones that are sprayed with potato starch to keep them from getting soggy) and the steak was, frankly, quite unedible. It is a sad thing to see your favorite restaurant food go to hell....

Les Halles is part of a series of restaurants in Paris, New York and Miami, the original in France. I hope that someone in their management team will notice the change in food quality, and will restore this charming restaurant to its former glory of all things French and bistro!
