My husband and I decided to try this restaurant. The ambience is just ok. We thought it was a little cold, not comfortable and a little dirty. We hoped that the food would be better than the decor so we asked to be seated. We ordered Chicken Tikka, plain naan and a vegetarian dish. The chicken tasted old and was extremely dry. The veg dish was just ok. My husband did not care for the naan, I thought it was fine. We found hair on our table and in two of our dishes. We did mention to our server that the chicken was very dry and tasted old - he did bring out another chicken dish - it tasted just as old with sauce on top. We have eaten at many Indian restuarants and this one was not satisfactory.
Although the servers are a little intimidating and hard to understand, the food is delicious and well worth a try. This was my first experience with indian food, so I can't say how authentic it was or what someone with more experience would say but I know that I will definitely go back for more. I would recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Everytime I come there I always think the service is kind of sketcy. The last time I ate the lunch buffet, the food tasted a little weird. It's hard to ask questions about items on the lunch buffet because no one can understand you. However, when I order stuff on the menu it's always been really tasty. It's weird how they dump your silverware on the table instead of just placing it in front of you.
I've been eating there for several years. Lunch buffet is always great. It's small and simple, but it's hot and fresh and has enough variety that you can really get a fix of some hearty and rich Indian food. We always get way overstuffed there because the food is good and we end up piling our plates high. Always seems to be the exact same small staff working in there. Never had any dirty dishes, silverware, glasses, etc. and I've eaten there at least 60 times honestly. There are some other Indian places in town which seem a little more authentic (food is spicier and more weird things on the menu) and although they are great too, they are not any better then this one. So I'm not sure if the food would be consdered 100% authentic by a real middle-easterner, but it's really great to me. All my friends, family, and co-workers really like the place.
The atmosphere was pleasant and the wine was good. After having ordered three dishes my husband and I both agreed that something was funny about the meal. It tasted strange. BAD MEAT. After having told some co-workers about my experience they all confirmed what my husband and I had tasted. We didn't get sick; however, prefer not to eat at a place where the food has a spoiled taste due to BAD MEAT. Whether the meat was freezer burned or just bad I do not know, but I will not take my chances there again.
I've been eating here for the last 8 years and this is still my favorite spot in all of Jacksonville. The food is allways perfect and the service is allways on point.
Recently my wife and I we took both our daughters who also enjoyed the food and look forward to getting to go again.
Lunch buffet is always a good choice. There are not whole lot selections, but definitely enough for lunch.
