Recently brought a large party to Hyde Park to celabrate the holiday season. I was impressed with the atmosphere. Tables did seems somewhat close and it was rather lound when the restaurant was full. This was not an issue but a consideration if you are looking for a quiet evening. Food was well prepared and cooked to liking. Steak butter was more noticable on half of my steak. The creamy spinach side was contained too much liquid and was runny rather than creamy. Waitress stopped by frequently to tell us "how good" everything was and became somewhat annoying.
Last but not least, be aware that when you order the sampler appitizer each party at the table is billed $35. Althought I disputed this at the time I ordered, since I am not a fan of shellfish, the waitress took it upon herself to ask the rest of the party and make the decision for me. The sampler was big, but was a serving for 3 or 4 at the most.
Total bill came to about 269 including 17 gratuity. Waitress made it clear that gratuity was included and that she was not trying to "rip us off".
Good restaurant, not top calibre, but with improvement in service could become top calibre.
