Wow I'm pretty surprised at the horrible reviews that House of Ing has received. I have never dined in but I can speak for their take-out. My husband and I go to H of I at least twice a month, always get take out and usually order the same things. Every single time the food is HOT and fresh and delicious. Neither us or our kids have gotten sick (thank God) and the food is tasty. The phone order always goes smoothly and it never takes more than 15-20 minutes. They are my favorite so far.
I used to go to this place as a kid with my parents. Since I moved to the area I have tried it twice and both times the service was aweful, 45 min wait for takeout?!?! When I got home the fried rice smelled like cigarette butts and the rest of the food was not edible, it all went straight to the garbage. NEVER again! Bad food, bad service and way too expensive!
On two seperate occasions a year apart, I and my son came away from Ings with food illness. 20 years ago House of Ings was a staple. It's now become a skull and cross bones warning to stay away...far far away. It's a shame that a nice neighborhood place that used to be the "go to" place for so many has become an empty shell. This is what happens when arrogance takes the place of service in a restaurant. Someone needs to be there that cares about food, food safety, service, and maintaing the clientelle that pays the bills.
The restaurant was empty so why did it take so long to get our cold food? I didn't care for the taste either. I was with my mother who "doesn't like a sceen", so I didn't say anything. I won't be going back though. Such a shame, it is so close to home.
" It used to be wonderful but during the years I feel that it has gone down hill... "
