My first visit to a Hometown Buffet when I was a child was less than memorable, mainly due to the fact that I was so young. After visiting this particular Hometown, however, I was extremely impressed not only by the variety and selection of food available, but by the atmosphere and ability of the staff to maintain a clean and freshly stocked environment. They have self serve Coke products along with a normal selection of iced tea or coffee, plus a server who will even fill your drink on request.
The buffet is a typical round style with a variety of foods to please any ethnically diverse pallet, dabbling in typical American cuisine (such as fresh macaroni and cheese, the hamburger bar, and several types of southern cooked chicken), Tex Mex favorites (try the taco bar and fresh cornbread!), and even a few Asian dishes (my favorite being the orange chicken, which actually knocks the pants off of several local Chinese buffets).
As mentioned previously, the variety of chicken is excellent, with at least three different styles stocked at any given time - there's always plenty of fresh mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, greenbeans, and even several different types of french fries to accompany. The selection of breads is a little less than satisfying, but the lack of variety is made up with quality and freshness.
What really impresses me about this particular restaraunt is the salad bar. Most buffets have lack luster salad ingredients and soggy greens, but this is one that does not disappoint. Being able to choose from normal romain lettuce, an already dressed caesar salad, or my personal favorite of mixed greens, the toppings are always a good accompaniment.
Last but not least, the dessert bar is stupendous, with several gourmet cake slices available, excellent cherry cobbler, and the very best ice cream sundae toppings. They also have small cones for the kids.
In conclusion, this buffet is probably one that you've been to before, but there's a reason they're franchised - not a single establishment of the same type can beat Hometown Buffet. While the food isn't as fresh in between the long lunch rushes, even a less than perfect visit to this Hometown buffet is more than satisfying. As a consumer, I'm very pleased with this establishment and recommend it to everyone with a stomach.

I used to eat here at least once a week. Then I found the GOLDEN CORRAL mmmmmmmmmm the home town buffet pales in comparison to the golden corral who actually serves "the good stuff" after 4pm like steak, ribs and so much more
