One of the best dining experiences in Greensboro. It has a menu that has worldly influences and varies with new dishes throughout the seasons. The wine list is extensive and it has a great bar and patio for cocktails. I have eaten there many times and am always pleased with the quality of the food and staff. It is a great place to entertain business clients.
The ambiance of Green Valley is probably the best in Greensboro. The high ceiling, paintings and dim lighting leads to either a romantic night out or a higher end business meeting / discussion. The downside is on a busy night (most nights) the large open room can get loud. The outside patio is fantastic, with small fountains and surrounded by greenery a very good place to eat (unless the large fans are on to cool down the area).
Green Valley food combines fresh with well prepared. By fresh, they are one of the elite few eateries in the area where local produce is extensivly used in the kitchen. Goat lady cheese to the around the corner farmers market. This is very evident in the every changing large seasonal portion of their menu, also labeled as "specials".
My wife and I started with a trio of dips; hummus (unseasoned and rather plain), olive spread (very good and naturally salty), and a red pepper hummus (still on the mild side). While the presentation was very good we were still dissapointed with the seasoning of the chick peas (hummus).
I ordered a portabello, red pepper pasta while my wife ordered salmon. My meal as the appitizer left me wanting a little more, not in volume but in flavor however my wife's meal was fantastic and as she says "exactly what she wanted".
In the end I would revist Green Valley Grill.
Wine list is top notch
Abiance is one of the best in Greensboro
Fresh ingredients is easily seen and tasted.
Prepration is above average.
Between Green Valley Grill and Lucky 32 (owned by the same people). I am still a Lucky 32 fan. The wine menu is not as nice, ambiance is not as impressive, however the chefs at Lucky 32 seem to prepare my food how I like it 95% of the time, something I can't say for Green Valley (75%).
Either way there isn't a better meal in the triad for the money.
" Directly attached to the O'Henry hotel and located near the corner of Wendover Ave... "
