We have tasted great variations in BBQ cuisine from Colorado to Florida. We can tell you that City BBQ has a lot to learn. The portions are skimpy with limited sides and the price is steep. The brisket is tough and greasy. We were long term residents that came here from Kansas City seven years ago due to a job relocation. Although we really like what Ohio has to offer, we are still looking for a good BBQ house in Ohio. Not Mongolian (Yuk!), Hoggy's(ok), Smokey Bones (mediocre), Sonny's BBQ (Florida - closer to real), Snead's, Jack Stack, or Nichol's BBQ (KC - the best).
I had a plate, which featured scampy portions of tough brisket, awful sides, and paid through the nose. The place itself is wanna be southwest (which is funny considering its a BBQ place). Coming from Kansas City, I know I'm spoiled, but this was down right awful. I'm convinced the only reason they do any business is because people from Ohio have never tasted the real thing.
