We dine at The Blue Slipper every year when we visit Manistee. It is always good, with everytime favorites and new specials to choose from. The mushroom starters are fantastic as is the baked brie. They seem to always have a pasta with a lobster bisque base that is a guaranteed winner! The ribs with that special sauce are a must have. YUM ... can't wait until next year!
Received overcooked eggplant Parmesan... how hard is it to prepare this traditional Italian dish? The waiter would not comp the dish nor would he make any attempt to show that they cared the dish was prepared poorly. Why did he even bring the burnt food to the table? Oh well, I used to frequent this restaurant when I visited my parents who live in Onekama... never again.
The Slipper features a seasonal menu with many of my personal favorites including the Roast Rack of Prime Pork and the Lobster Speghetti.
Great place to dine, but I do recomend that you make your dining occasions in the winter months if you are seeking a more intiment atmosphere (summers can get PRETTY hectic in these small tourist towns).
If you are visiting the area be certain to visit Manistee/Onekamas very best
