Reunion On The Freeway-Outside/Indoors
My family was going to be together for Christmas first time in ten years. I wanted a fine place to eat where we could talk and be heard in comfort. I confirmed a reservation for thirteen at the Rock Road Bella Luna for their back room at one o'Clock on Sunday, December 21, 2008 - Someone already had reserved three o'clock. We arrived on time and started to place our orders when the Manager came in and said we had no reservation. I reiterated that I had specifically confirmed the reservation for 1 O'clock. He came back and said I had reserved one-thirty on Monday - Outright lie on his part!!! He had promised someone else the room without checking the reservation book and did not want to go back on his word to them. He set up some tables by the outside door and said he would discount our bill by thwenty-five percent. Reluctantly we agreed since the other group was a Baptism celebration. We were seated next to the front door which was continually being opened - the below freezing North wind greeted us with every coming and going of people. The waiter did the best he could. When the check came, it was obvious the discount was less than promised. I took it to the manager and he hem-hawed around, made a minor change and offered a new check that was still obviously not 25% off. He made another try to confuse me and adjusted the total again. I knew it was still not right, but felt no good would come of making a scene. I paid the check which was $1.10 more than it should have been. We tipped our waiter directly so there wouldn't be anything for the manager to further miscalculate. Our reunion was spoiled, there was no chance to converse, I only got a few words with the member from Washington State.
If you want to freeze and not be able to hear during your meal, make a reservation for the back room and get moved out because the manager has given away your place. We will NOT take a chance on that ever happening to us again! -
Excellent Meal, Great Service
Bella Luna has great food and great service. I have never had a meal there that I didn't enjoy. I have eaten at both the Oliver & Central and Rock Road locations and enjoyed both. The Oliver/Central seems a little more cozy, but maybe that's b/c I went there for a while before the Rock location opened. There are many, many meals that I love, but my very favorite items are the cream of mushroom soup and the steak sandwich.

Will not go back!!
We have gone there, location on Maise, 3 or 4 times thinking that we just got the worst waitress each time. Today we were seated promply and then egnored. Finally the hostes that seated us came back to our table and asked if the waitress had taken our order. When we told her that she had been the only one that had spoke to us she got our drinks and took our order. The food was nothing special but my wife likes the mushroom soup which was not hot when the hostess again brought it to us. The food is so so but the young waitres' were the poorest that I have ever experienced. The people that work McDonalds have more personality and are friendlier when I get my morning coffee. Don't waste your time or money with this restaurant it is not worth the fustration.

Mediocre food - incompetent service
Bella Luna is the biggest disappointment in a restaurant that I’ve experienced in Wichita! My friends & I went for our lunch break after calling ahead to reserve a table. When we arrived at the specified time, we found our table had been given away to seat two people. We had to wait for over half an hour, while the couple at our table waited for their bill. Once seated, we were not brought water or given any service for another 15 minutes. After finally being able to place our order, we waited again for a considerable amount of time before our orders were brought to us. One order was wrong and had to be sent back. Our drinks were never refreshed and we waited for another very long time before our bill was brought out - a little office luncheon celebration turned into a 2 ½ hour ordeal!
I had to return to the restaurant for two days in a row to correct an over-billing error on the bank card I used; the young female manager was very haughty, rude and disagreeable.
For incompetent service and mediocre food, I’d give this place a “1!” -
Awful Place to eat
I will never go back...The service was very bad ....The food was terrible........I do not know why people praise this place...The menu has been the same since the day was opened...The waitress need more training and needs to be more friendly...The food seems was not fresh.....I am sure I will not go back,,,

Bella Luna workers do not wash their hands....
After watching the waitresses deliver food to the tables and then bus another table and not wash their hands...after seeing the waitresses take the same glass to refill pop...after seeing the waitresses touch their hair and face and not wash their hands before touching a plate of fresh food makes me wonder how we don't get sicker!
The food is good and the service is good...but the part about hygeine makes me sick. -

I've been to both locations several times and the food is outstanding and the wait staff great at both. However they are much different in the atmosphere. The East Central seems smaller and is much quieter. This recent experience at Rock Road left a lot to be desired. It was incredibly noisy and the tables were shoved together so closely that one lady, who was squeezing through to get to her table, wiped all the condiments off one table onto the floor. This was early October and the a/c was set so low, most women were sitting on their hands and wearing their dates sport coats.
I'll just go to Central only from now on. -

Bella Luna Unparallel
I have been going to Bella Luna for over 3 years. It is by far the best resturant in the city! I wanted to write a rebuttle to the statement by the lady with her child. First off, you wrote a review for the Bradley Fair Bella Luna, not the one on Central. I have had the Chicken salad several times and never had a problem. Obvioiusly your not very good at confronting people and being able to say something to someone when there is a problem. Seek help. As for the chicken curry. I have had it over 10 times there...never a problem. You must have caught a new cook or someone inexperanced in the kitchen. I suggest trying something more than once before you go off half cocked on the internet.

Terrible Experience
My husband and I recently tried out the Bella Luna Cafe on Central. I had such high hopes for it--I had heard many wonderful things about the place--but while the service was fairly attentive and the atmosphere was delightful, the food was dreadful. I had a chicken salad sandwich on croissant: the croissant was hard on the top and mushy on the bottom. It was, in fact, inedible. When the waitress came back to our table, she asked if I wanted a box for it. She did not, however, inquire further into the matter after my resounding "No!" My husband had a curry that was over done, and the french fries that we ordered for our daughter were cold. We will never go there again.

One of Wichita's Best Restaurant
If howling at the moon is a good thing I'm howling for Bella Luna. (Luna means moon.) The hummas is the best in Wichita and the entrees are prepared and presented as if you were eating at a fine dining establishment. The atmosphere is casual yet classy and you'll always see the "whose who" of Wichita at both of their locations. Lastly, you get a lot of "bang for your buck" at Bella Luna. They could easily charge more for their food, but they dont. Definitely keeps you coming back for more.
