Great atmosphere, good bar vibe, when weather is nice...even better on the deck. Food is consistently above average...depends on the dish. Fish usually solid choice. Nice cocktails and warm feeling. Reminds me, w/garage doors that open in season, of a New York bar/restaurant.
Dined there w/friends and family, small and large parties, over a half dozen times and keep going back. Service is decent.
We love the view and the food is good but the service is just awful and how interesting that the website doesn't allow you to contact them hmmm. I will not go back. I have visited other outdoor dining venues (Portofino Wyndotte) that are superior. Also, I observed the servers bringing food from the kitchen which was far from the dining area, without a cover on the food.
Recently was at wedding reception at this place. Owner SCREAMED at me for parking in handicapped parking place. I have a permit on the mirror, and my mother-in-law in a wheelchair. Then yelled in the parking lot for driving to the door opposite the flow. She is paralyzed and cannot enter car from wheelchair on the other side, no mobility. Owner is an IDIOT. Family spend THOUSANDS on wedding reception and I get yelled at in the parking lot?? Will NEVER be back!!!
This was the third time at this restaurant for me. I was there for lunch inside, for a small business meeting dinner, and this time for lunch outside on the patio. It was a wonderful experience with food and service. The server was so nice and helpful in helping us make menu choices, and the hostess offered an inside table if it got too warm outside. The food was really great. It is on the water and very relaxing. Private enough to talk business and romantic if that's what you are looking for. I have loved it all three times I have visited. This time I visited the little gift shop, which is very nice.
THe food and the look of the restaurant was wonderful, but we had the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. The waiter got the order backwards (his salmon on my salad?). And gave us a fork to move the salmon ourselves, without offering to replace a salad that did not go well with the salmon we were removing. He also couldn't understand why my husband didn't want my salad dressing on his salmon. Very frustrating and rude.
The service was good and the food was wonderful! It seemed a little pricey at first but after the meal I felt it was worth every penny. Enjoyed the ambiance. Would love to go back for special and/or romantic occasions. The restaurant is right on Union Lake and looked like it would be very pretty in the summer.
